Paper Folded Seven Times

When the three of us started to conceptualize this forum, we danced around the word “boundaries” knowing that this blog would have to not only comply with our current ideas about art but also simultaneously challenge them. Though our goal is to keep a focus on art-related topics, the word “art” spans a vast territory across language, time, and space so in a way there is no way to contain it. On The Fold signifies the precariousness of relating and discussing these topics and the tension that sometimes disturbs our truths.

The seventh fold is a reference to the mathematical problem that a single sheet of paper cannot be folded more than seven times. Of course there have been exceptions but we are not mathematicians nor are we scientists. We’re simply experimenting with this particular truth and forcing ourselves past the given boundary.
